“Rollback” — Recommended Reading

I challenge my friends who have been in disagreement with my political take to read this book. Cover to cover, or whatever the digital equivalent to that is.

Rollback: Repealing Big Government Before the Coming Fiscal Collapse
by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Tom has another winner of a book here. Those who enjoyed “Meltdown” and “Who Killed the Constitution” (the other Woods works I have read) have another heaping helping in store. Be warned: for those who are not accustomed to relatively pure libertarian arguments, the contents will be like a bracing slap in the face. But check your premises and examine his points seriously. And it’s not just progressives who are taken to task; Republicans, Tea Partiers, traditional conservatives, and defense hawks all get their comeuppance here.

In what’s an unmistakable sign of the way “we the people” are figuring out the games the poll-iticians are playing on us, “Rollback” is at this writing ranked #3 in sales at Amazon in the U.S. Politics listing. Even as recently as a year ago, a book making points so different from what the mass media and the folks in DC preach might achieve a cult following but not approach best seller status. But the times they are a changin’ and because they are, we can hope that at least a few of Woods’s proposals for rolling back Leviathan have a change at real consideration. Before it’s too late.
